The ALC

English is an international language. Since I was a child, I have always been   fascinated by the way the Americans speak and manage conversations.
I started learning English when I was in the primary school, I used to repeat those many words I learned throughout the day with a lasting smile upon my face..Year after year my English improved, and in order to learn more vocabulary and learn to speak fluently, I decided to enroll in the ALC..
I began by Beg6 class, and I still remember how much I was happy and excited to learn more and more...During one year ( 7 sessions), my skills got really improved... Before, I wasn't even able to have a real conversation with someone else... now it has changed, I learned to love this language, love to talk English, love to write in English...the teachers developed my self-confidence, they taught me that with perseverance everything can be made..
What wonderful memories ! These English classes in the ALC were absolutely amazing, I met new people, I made many friends, I laughed so hard, I shouted , I sang.. I still remember when I was in Inter 3 class and Mr Jamal took us to Aljawhara and paid pizza for us, this class was very special, I miss those days...
The ALC has become a lovely place for me, I spend so much fun there. Thus, I signed up for the Adv1 class and I'm looking forward to take it..But I still have to revise my lessons and get ready to the final exam next week in order to pass .. I wish a good luck for all my classmates, they all deserve it !

Mayor's speech

     My fellow citizens,
I stand here today grateful for the trust you have bestowed and mindful of the sacrifices that must be done to develop our city. Fez has come to a crossroad and that's why I decided to make some changes.
First of all, Traffic has become a total mess in our city, everybody gets stuck at those traffic jams especially at rush hours, that's why I'm planning to widen the roads, in addition, more traffic lights should be installed .More police officers must also be hired to control the movement of traffic and enable people to arrive at time to their jobs.
Second, economic development is on the minds of most of you, particularly with regard to our downtown area. For many years, economic prosperity has been neglected and I plan to change all of that. I am proposing a city center revitalization project that would promote new businesses, new residential areas, and new open green areas to bring people back to the heart of our city.
Third, crime and violence are increasing these last months in our city,  in order to restore peace and security, we have put some surveillance cameras in several areas as you can see and we're struggling to keep you safe.
Finally, I hope that  you are satisfied with all the efforts that we provide and I promise you to do all my best to improve our city Fez and make it the best in the country.
Thank you.
Mr the Mayor

To the mayor...

Dear mayor HAMID CHABAT,
Let me introduce myself, I'm Yasmine Filali, a simple civilian of Fes city. You may be surprised by my letter but with all my respects to you, I just want to discuss a few points about our city. We do have a beautiful one, we are all grateful to you for all the projects that you made since you're the mayor. We can not deny that you realize good things, such us street projects, buildings, hospitals, buses..
However, our life in this city needs to be improved, changed, protected from many problems and breaking rules. There are too many cars, that causes a lots of accidents and air pollution, especially during working days when the majority of people drive their cars to work. For that, I do have one sollution as a proposition: their should be fewer cars and more traffic lights. It could stop or just reduce traffic. I also mentioned breaking rules, I meant "corruption" which has many distronary impacts and it's a huge obstacle for the developpenment of our city. So we have to be more attentive, punish every briber and avoid using it yourself. There should be more police officers and more street lights in dark areas because crimes are increasing day after day. I think people deserve to feel safe and live in peace. In summary I wish that you could understand me and that you will try to acheve some of my ideas.
Sorry for waisting your time and thank you mister the mayor

Moroccan movies

"From dumb to dumber" that's their perfect slogan !

Moroccan movies production is getting worse year after year, with no taste of humor and drama
stories that show you only the worst and ugliest side of our society.. I wonder what impression would have a foreigner about our country while seeing one of those movies... obviously a bad one !
It's true that a big part of those stories is realistic but it's through movies that we have to change it and sensitize people, in this context, there's a new film that I've watched last week and has impressed me titled : God's Horses with the well-known director Nabil Ayouch. This film is an intimate portrait of boys growing up in a toxic environment...Powerfully narrated and convincingly acted without talking down to any of its characters, God’s Horses takes the viewer inside an immense Moroccan slum and describes the no-future lives of its inhabitants; very gradually it gets around to showing how fundamentalist recruiters entrenched themselves there after 9/11 and used it as a hunting ground for terrorists and suicide bombers. I really liked this movie because it's ultimately based on true events, further more, it will influence the citizens and show them that terrorism is nothing but a crime ..I hope that Moroccan producers will invest in more educational scripts in order to improve  our society awareness.

A predicament

Last Saturday,I had an awkward experience.. I went shopping with my best friend downtown, as usual we began with our favorite boutique, then we tried a lot of clothes and shoes.. Finally, I decided to buy a beautiful red dress , my friend payed for her things then suddenly, when I had to pay I looked for my purse in my handbag but didn't find it ! It was very embarrassing!  The cashier was waiting for the money when I remembered that I had forgotten my purse at home, I've never felt that way before..I didn't know what to do ! It was a very humiliating situation..

My story ...

My name's Yasmine, and here is my story ...
3 years before, I was a girl like any other 15 years old girl, I was living peacefully, I had many friends, I was studying in a reputable high school and was  brilliant in my studies , further more, I was a good pianist and I had a beautiful voice, I used to sing to all my friends and my family , they were proud of me... I think I had everything a girl could wish to have...But  as they say, nothing lasts forever..
March 11, 2011 the day that was supposed to be a rite of my passage, it was my first performance, the first time I stand in front of 200 000 people to sing my favorite song by Oum Kalthoum called ' Inta Omri', this day could have led me to a great career of singer ans maybe to the hall of fame, it was a life changing opportunity... I had already sang this song for several times and it wasn't a big deal for me, as my turn came, I stood with a big self confidence, the musicians began to play, everything was perfect until I had to sing, I raised my voice but ... I couldn't hear anything, I was on trouble..  I wasn't even able to talk, I shout and shout and shout again, but nothing was heard, I had no voice, the music stopped, nobody understood what happened, my parents and the organizers joined me, I was shaking and crying with all my strength but with no voice.. they took me to the emergencies and that's where the doctor told them that I had a shock and had lost my voice forever..
All of my dreams were destroyed, I depressed and wanted to die, for me everything was devoid of colors.. I didn't want to see anyone or talk to anyone, I went out of school and I locked myself in my room for one year.. It was so hard to get used to this, but I thanked god for everything and hanged to life ...
Now, I returned to school and I'm persevering to succeed, I reconnected with all of my friends and learned to be happy with what I have, because we can't get everything in life . I have another dreams currently and I'll do my best to make them come true ...

Being an actor ..

Being an actor is a fantastic job, one of the cherished dreams of many teens. It offers you the opportunity to become a new person, a new character recognized by many people. First of all, you can travel a lot, attend international festivals and meet famous and talented people that share their experience with you so you can benefit from their skills and knowledge. In addition, you can get the chance to wear different expensive clothes, be in the first cover of a magazine, drive magnificent  cars... but this job has another side that everybody ignores.. it is so stressful to live in fame all the time , paparazzi  follow you everywhere and offend your private life..In the other hand, sometimes  you don't like the role given to you, but you just have to accept it even if it doesn't suit to you or reflect your personality, and you have to perform it with the dues required. Finally, to be an actor needs to spend a lot of time at work and can affect your personal life .
So don't think that this people on the screen are well-paid for a simple and easy task.

I'm sorry...

I’m sorry letters will surely melt your heart. If you have received apology letters from someone who have offended you, you may probably wonder how difficult it could be. At times we think that writing sorry letters can be very difficult. But in reality, these sorry letters will help you let out of your emotions in ways you can’t imagine.
True enough, it is quite difficult to face the person we caused disappointment and pain. It is quite a challenge knowing that accepting one’s fault is not that easy.  Sometimes, we put the blame on the situation we are into. We don’t even look at our own gesture. If you are not willing to accept your own mistakes then things will never be fixed. In order for you to mend what was broken, you should learn how to write apology letters.
Here's my sorry letter to my friend Lina, I hope she will forgive me :(
Dear Lina,
I am very sorry for what I did. I truly am, I screwed up ..I know what happened was beyond your control. I was simply sharing my ideas and never expected things to go wrong. I was even disappointed with how I acted yesterday. My intention of talking to you was only to let you know of my plans. I didn't mean to yell at you. I know I have offended you and for that I want to personally apologize. Lina, I hate fighting, especially with you. You mean a lot to me , more than you know and it kills me inside to know that I have hurt somebody that I care about so much.
Please accept my apology. I know I have done you wrong and I want to let you know how sorry I am. Again, I apologize from the bottom of my heart.

Sincerely yours
   Your friend Yasmine

Piano

I've always wanted to become a famous pianist.Piano is one of my favorite hobbies, I always express my feelings through my play.
I learned to play piano at the age of 9 by studying 4 years in the conservatory, actually I'm still taking private courses.
To be successful at piano, you must have a good knowledge on notes skill, be patient and able to stay hours trying to decipher a partition. In addition, you should love the instrument to play it well and always keep practicing.
People can learn it by taking music classes or private piano courses, they can also learn it by watching videos on Youtube that show you the position of notes on the piano keyboard.
What I found difficult about playing it is trying to combine between your two hands in the same time with different notes, that was really hard at first, it needs so much focusing ...
Finally, all I can say is that I'm really proud of my play currently and i hope I'll improve it over time.

Regrets..

Who has no regrets ? Everybody does, because everybody makes mistakes, it's a human nature, but the difference between us is the way we deal with our passage feints.Have you ever sat alone and thought about your life, things or people ? of course you've done it and you told yourself: why didn't I do that or why did I do that ? You've already regretted to say something you shouldn't say , to act someway you shouldn't act, ans thus you've hurt some people or hurt yourself, you've disappointed your friend, your parent, your lover.. But you've got hurt and disappointed too, and that's life...So, the key is :  NEVER regret what you've done, because somehow, it happened and you cannot change it now,but it's not the end, and it's never too late to act well.
Admit the reality, try to think intelligently, maybe if you didn't act like this, your life would be different currently.. face the problem, show dignity, go and apologize from the ones you've hurt, they will eventually accept but the most important thing is self satisfaction, be sure and proud of yourself how ever the situation is, then you'll not go the wrong way because it's your instinct that will lead you to give the best of you.
Always remember : Do not anxiously hope for that which is not yet come and  do not vainly regret what is already past.
